Saturday 9th March - walk *** – Hemley circuit – sunny start then
clouded over.
After yesterdays nice windsurf foil I was hoping to have another go today
to make the most of the morning sunshine so headed over to Levington to
check the conditions even if it did look marginal ? Arrived at the marinna
just past 10 but the wind looked too light, you might have got going with
7.5 but couldn’t be bothered to try big kit even the workman doing the
dredgering said I could drive in and park by the launch. So home to do my
exercises inn the sunny back garden before packing lunch and we drive over
to Hemley Church to enjoy our picnic with a spotted woodpecker in the tree
beside us:) Such a peaceful spot, then wellies on and we set off down the
hedgerow footpath, as usual its pretty muddy but there are loads of birds
including long tailed tits, curlews, maybe a gold crest and a robin, we
even spot a hare in the distance:) Then up the river bank at Kirton Creek
with the sun long gone now and the tide low so loads of mud but very few
waders about although there was a large flock of curlews but they were on
the fields! We were getting tired as we headed back to the van even the
walk was under 2 miles but it was hard going in the mud!
Then home for a cuppa and watch the rudgy and what a day for the underdog,
England amazing performance and well done Italy too - top results:)
